On this page you will find all information about the warranty & maintenance of your KOBRA.

We at KOBRA BIKES guarantee our quality. Every bike goes through strict quality control and meets high standards to ensure quality. It is possible, despite these checks and conditions, that something is wrong. Fortunately, we therefore offer on every KOBRA Fatbike 2 year warranty! In this article we will explain the warranty terms and conditions in more detail.

Warranty conditions

  1. KOBRA BIKES guarantees that the delivered products comply with the agreement, the specifications stated in the offer, the reasonable requirements of soundness and/or usability and the legal provisions and/or government regulations existing on the date of the conclusion of the agreement.
  2. The warranty can only be invoked by the registered owner of the product in question.
  3. The warranty is transferable in the event of resale of c2c, provided that the service booklet + original invoice is present.
  4. The KOBRA BIKES warranty provided under these terms and conditions is without prejudice to the possibility of KOBRA BIKES on the basis of the ordinary, statutory provisions of the Dutch Civil Code.

Warranty period

All KOBRA Fatbike Models are warranted for 2 years against defects in construction and/or materials, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.

Scope of warranty

  1. During the warranty period, all parts of which have been KOBRA BIKES has been established that there is a material and/or construction defect, at the discretion of the KOBRA BIKES be repaired or replaced.
  2. Cost of transportation to and from KOBRA BIKES shall be borne by the consumer, unless there is a KOBRA BIKES If it is established that there is a warranty, the transport costs will be reimbursed.
  3. If a certain part is eligible for warranty and the original is no longer available, KOBRA BIKES for a minimally equivalent alternative.

Submitting a warranty request

Claims under this warranty must be presented for inspection with the product in question and a valid proof of purchase KOBRA BIKES. This offer will be made through the KOBRA conditions. Costs incurred by third parties (with the exception of recognised KOBRA Fatbike Dealers) are KOBRA BIKES not reimbursed, unless otherwise indicated. Parts that are replaced under warranty are kept for 3 months at all times due to possible warranty audit.

Liability

A KOBRA BIKES honoured warranty claim does not mean that KOBRA BIKES accepts liability for any damage suffered. The liability of KOBRA BIKES never extends beyond what is set forth in these Terms. Any liability on the part of KOBRA BIKES consequential damages are expressly excluded.

Warranty Exclusions

  1. We cannot give a guarantee on parts that are subject to wear and tear, such as tires, chains, saddles, chainrings, freewheels, cassettes, bodies, cables, brake pads, etc., unless there are construction and/or material defects. "Normal" wear and tear due to use is therefore excluded.
  2. The warranty will be void in the following cases:
  • Improper and/or careless use of the product and use that is not in accordance with its intended purpose;
  • The product has not been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions;
  • Technical repairs have not been carried out in a professional manner or by KOBRA / a recognised KOBRA Fatbike dealer;
  • Retrofitted parts do not correspond to the technical specification of the product in question or have been incorrectly assembled;
  • Staging, in any form whatsoever, will void the warranty of the KOBRA Fatbike. For example, by modifying the software, which deviates from the original/prescribed software by KOBRA BIKES. And/or adjustments that make the bike go faster than 25km/h and/or have a power greater than 250w. Applying any of the above will void the warranty.

Maintenance

KOBRA BIKES recommends servicing purchased products according to the instructions in section "Fatbike maintenance'. Timely and professional maintenance ensures a longer lifespan and prevents possible problems. Failure to maintain will result in the loss of your warranty rights.

To maintain the warranty on the KOBRA Fatbike shall comply with the conditions set out below in section "Fatbike maintenance" must be met.

KOBRA Fatbike Maintenance

KOBRA BIKES recommends that purchased products be maintained according to the instructions of the respective manufacturer. Timely and professional maintenance ensures a longer lifespan and prevents problems. Failure to service may result in the loss of your warranty entitlement. Read on to learn more about themaintenance of the KOBRA BIKES.

Maintenance Scheduling

Each KOBRA Fatbike has a manufacturer's warranty period of 2 years. One of the requirements to maintain the manufacturer's warranty is to have timely maintenance carried out by an authorized dealer. Below are the guidelines of the maintenance with the prices per service.

Service 1 : At 500 km or after 3 months* 0 euro incl. VAT (recommended price ex. material)
Service 2 : At 2000 km or after 6 months* +- 55 euro incl. VAT (recommended retail price ex. material)
Service 3 : At 4000 km or after 12 months* +- 55 euro incl. VAT (recommended retail price ex. material)
Service 4 : At 6000 km or after 18 months* +- 55 euro incl. VAT (recommended retail price ex. material)
At every subsequent 2000km after the last service until the end of the warranty period +- 55 euro incl. VAT (recommended retail price ex. material)

Even after the warranty period, we recommend having a service carried out once every 6 months or every +- 2000 km.

* NOTE: to maintain warranty, we use a margin of 200km and/or 30 days. When the service is not performed within these specified guidelines (required mileage service + 200km or/and elapsed time after purchase/last service +30 days) the warranty will be voided.

What will be checked during maintenance?

When servicing the KOBRA Fatbike the following points will be examined.

  • Check brakes for wear and brake pressure
  • Check front & rear wheel axle and tighten if necessary.
  • Check head play (handlebars) and adjust if necessary.
  • Check and adjust bottom bracket.
  • Check lighting.
  • Check and lubricate chain tension.
  • Check tires for tread, cracks and inflate. (2 bar front, 1.8 bar rear)
  • Check the horn.
  • Check nuts and bolts and tighten where necessary.
  • Update software. (if applicable)
  • Handle electrical contacts.
  • Clean/treat battery contact points.
  • Check display functions and switches.
  • Check electronics cables for wear and make sure they are tight.
  • Check the standard.
  • General dirt cleaning.
  • Check the standard.
  • Take a test drive +- 500m
